Why developers choose it
A faster yes or no
Reach a view on a site in days, before you commit to surveys and legal work.
See what could end it
The report names the grid, planning or land issue most likely to stop the site.
Figures you can defend
Every number shows its source and date, so the report holds up when your team reviews it.
What is in the report
A clear verdict
Pursue or pass, with the reasons.
Grid position
Nearby connection points, published headroom and the projects already holding capacity.
Planning and land constraints
Designations, flood zones, heritage, green belt, peat and farmland grade on one map.
Competing storage nearby
Operating, consented and pending battery schemes around the site.
Returns
Low, central and high cases, and what moves the answer.
Sources
Where each figure came from and when it was published.
Who is it for?
Battery developers
Decide which sites deserve surveys and legal work.
Land teams and agents
Start the conversation with a landowner with evidence behind you.
Landowners
Understand whether a site suits a battery and whether an offer is fair for the location.
How it works
Send the site
A location or boundary, and the size of battery you have in mind.
We prepare the report
We check grid, planning and land, and model the returns.
You decide
You receive the report and take it to your team or your landowner.
Good to know
- The report covers Great Britain. Northern Ireland is not covered.
- Grid figures are what the network operators have published, with their dates. They are not connection offers.
- Returns are modelled from public figures and stated assumptions. They are not a revenue forecast.
- The report does not replace the site studies a planning application needs.
Questions about Battery storage siting report
Where does the grid information come from, and how current is it?
From the registers that NESO and the network operators publish. Every figure carries its source and the date that source published it.
Does it cover Scotland and Wales?
Yes, for grid, designations, heritage, flood, farmland and peat. Land title information covers England and Wales only.
Can I change the assumptions?
Yes. Battery size, duration, cost and the treatment of grid reinforcement can be changed, and the report shows what moved as a result.
Does the report predict a connection offer or a planning decision?
No. It shows what has been published and labels cost and delay as assumptions. The network operator and the planning authority decide.
How much does it cost?
£1,950 a site, excluding VAT. Adding a paired solar site is £500 more.
How long does it take, and how do I order?
Three working days from a complete order. Order by email today. Ordering through an API is in early access.
